About PNGtoSVG
PNGtoSVG is a free, browser-based tool that converts PNG images into real, path-based SVG vector files. It exists to make image vectorization — turning a raster image into scalable vector paths — fast, private, and available to anyone, without a paid subscription, a required account, or a watermark on the result.
Every conversion runs locally in your browser using the Canvas API and a background Web Worker. Your image is decoded, traced, and turned into an SVG entirely on your own device — it's never uploaded to a server, which is what lets us say the tool is 100% private by design rather than by policy.
We built PNGtoSVG after running into the same problem repeatedly: needing a quick, reliable way to turn a logo, sketch, or icon into a clean vector file for a cutting machine, a website, or a print project, without installing design software or uploading files to yet another account-gated service.

Our Approach
We keep the tool free and unlimited because a converter that gatekeeps basic functionality behind a paywall isn't solving the problem it claims to. We keep it private because we simply don't want the liability, complexity, or user trust problem of handling anyone's image files on a server.
If you'd like to understand more about how the underlying conversion works, see how image tracing works, or read our privacy policy for the full detail on what data (if any) we collect.
